Phone owners drink wine; Android owners eat McDonalds finds study

I phone owners live the high life, while Android owners are bus-bound McDonalds-munchers, according to a new study

The latest iPhone vs Android owner study was done by Battery Ventures and found that many of the stereotypes about iPhone users are true.

“You would think iPhone users are all pinot-drinking yoga enthusiasts,” joked Jonathan Sills, the Battery Ventures entrepreneur-in-residence.

According to Sills, Battery Ventures’ data partly rings true. It turns out that iPhone owners are more likely to drink wine than beer. They are also more likely to own stock and have flown on a plane. In other words, they’re more likely to be well off.

Android users on the other hand are more likely to use public transport, be religious and have eaten McDonalds at least once in the last month. They are also more likely to smoke.

Interestingly, the study of American smartphone owners found iPhone and Android users are just as likely to own a gun.

According to Sills, while as a whole iPhone owners tend to be more wealthy, when you look at ownership and lifestyle choices melt away.
