Samsung's Galaxy S5 Mini benchmarks don't shout power

Whilst The Galaxy S5 is widely regarded as one of the most powerful smartphones available it looks like the S5 Mini won't be getting the same treatment

The benchmarks suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will come with a 4.8 inch 1280 x 720 display, a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

The specs are significantly lower than the full-fat Samsung Galaxy S5. There is the possibility it could turn out to be the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, rather than the Mini.

Details of the phone were posted on GFXBench. The tool is known for being used by smartphone makers ahead of launch to test the performance of their new handsets.

Other details posted on the site include that the phone will come with a 7 megapixel rear facing camera that can record 1080p video and a 2 megapixel front facing camera.

Unsurprisingly, it will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Previous rumours had suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5 would come with a 4.5-inch screen and 1.5GB RAM. Rumours also hinted that it would come with an 8 megapixel rear facing camera.
