New Office for Windows Phone might look just like the iOS version

Earlier this month, Microsoft's Joe Belfiore hinted that those complaining about the Windows Phone version of Office would soon be wearing a grin. Windows Phone users feel that because Office is a Microsoft product, they should be offered the best version of the Office app, not iPhone or Android owners. Right now, there is no question that the Windows Phone version of the suite is lacking when compared to the iOS and Android Office apps.

But Belfiore's comments, posted on Chinese social media site Weibo, hinted at an updated Windows Phone Office app to be announced prior to the February 19th start of the Chinese New Year. Now, Microsoft Colombia has posted a teaser for the new Office for Windows Phone with a line that reads "Edit your documents while you’re away from the office with mobile app #Office."

If you take a good look at the image used for the teaser, it appears that either Microsoft used a screenshot of the iOS app and photoshopped it onto a Windows Phone, or the re-designed Office for Windows Phone looks exactly like the iOS app. Either way, we could hear more about this on Wednesday when Microsoft holds its Windows 10 event.
